The Parent Empowerment Program
Led by Kristin Ancker, The Parent Empowerment Program is a 10 week program for parents to become experts in implementing positive discipline strategies in their home. Positive discipline is an approach to teaching and guiding children that focuses on fostering respect, empathy, and responsibility rather than using punitive measures. The core idea is to help children learn self-discipline, problem-solving skills, and positive behavior through encouragement and supportive guidance.
This program also focuses on the shifting the mindset of the parents.
Mindset refers to the underlying beliefs and attitudes that shape how we approach challenges, learn new things, and interact with others. It can significantly impact our behavior, performance, and overall well-being. Two widely recognized types of mindset are:
-
Fixed Mindset: This is the belief that abilities and intelligence are static and unchangeable. People with a fixed mindset might think that they are either good or bad at something, and they may avoid challenges or give up easily to avoid failure. They might also feel threatened by the success of others.
-
Growth Mindset: This is the belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed through effort, learning, and persistence. Individuals with a growth mindset embrace challenges, view failures as opportunities to learn, and are inspired by others' successes. They tend to be more resilient and open to new experiences.
When working with Kristen, parents receive weekly videos of how to take their parenting to the next level and are held accountable for their progress. Parents receive ongoing support for the duration of the 10-week program.
